LANGUAGES

With fewer language classes available, many students are turning to online language classes such as Rosetta Stone. These offer a terrific way to get started but often the conversational piece is missing. Mumbling Marmot language tutors can fill that niche with as many or as few sessions as you need, focusing on any part of language instruction that you need to supplement. We currently have tutors in these languages:

HOMEWORK SUPPORT

Teaching involves 3 steps:
  1. Modeling (the teacher shows the student how).
  2. Supported practice (teacher and student do it together; the student gets help as needed)
  3. Mastery (the student does it independently or takes a test on it).
Modeling can be done beautifully in the classroom. Testing can be done efficiently in the classroom. Supported practice is harder, so teachers often need to send homework to cover that step. If your student's homework is getting both of you down, a tutor can provide the support that takes the pain out, and puts the joy of learning back in.
